Calendar 2012

The Ambleside School of Hout Bay calendar features regular Parent Evenings, fundraising events, school-wide special events, Open Days for prospective parents and student involvement in outside sporting and cultural activities.

Key dates for the 1^st term:

Staff return to school - Thursday 12^th January
Orientation Day - Friday 13^th January, 9am-12pm
Students return to class - Monday 16^th January
Vision 2012 Parent Evening - Monday 23^rd January, 6:30pm
School Camp - 8^th to 10^th February
Junior Primary Day - Friday 10^th February
Beach Sports Day - Friday 24^th February
Staff Training with ASI - 12^th-16^th March
Parent-Teacher Conference - Monday 19^th March, from 5pm

On Orientation Day, students, with their parents, can to pop in to school to meet their new teachers and find their new classrooms, in preparation for the first day of school.

All parents are urged to prioritise attendance at the Vision 2012 Parent Evening - the Principal and School Board will be presenting vital feedback about our vision for the future of Ambleside, including a development plan for improvements to the school facilities.

Our annual Beach Sports day is a fun day out for all the students, who take part in a variety of events on Hout Bay beach.  Parents are welcome to come along and cheer!

Other sporting events during the 1st term are SACSSA swimming and athletics competitions in February and March.   Participants will be given further details closer to these events.

Annual Staff Training with Bill and Maryellen St. Cyr of Ambleside Schools International is one of the key benefits of our association with ASI. Through ongoing training, assessment and feedback our teachers continue to develop their understanding and application of the Ambleside Method.
