Application Process

  • Enquiry from parent per telephone or email
  • Admissions secretary to answer any admission queries
  • Admissions secretary to book interested parent on a school tour (Tours take place most Thursday mornings at 8.30am. Booking is essential)
  • After the school tour, parent may collect a prospectus and an application form
  • All forms, supporting documents and proof of payment of the application fee (R600) to be returned to the Admissions secretary (by hand or via email)
  • Should there be no space available in the grade applied for; the application will be put on file.
  • Should a space open up, suitable applicants will be notified to continue with the applications process
  • Only if there is a space in the particular grade applied for, will the parents be notified of dates for the child’s visit to Ambleside
  • These 3-day visits are usually Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays of a given week
  • The child is assessed by the class teacher during this 3-day visit
  • A form is completed by the child’s previous school and returned to Ambleside
  • Once the visit, and all the forms and reports are completed, a date will be telephonically confirmed by the Admissions secretary for a parent interview with the Principal
  • Successful applications are solely at the Principal’s discretion
