Statutory Benefits for Sponsors

Ambleside School of Hout Bay and the One Child At A Time education trust are registered as public benefit organisations.

This benefits you as a sponsor in two ways:

  1. Tax
  2. As a South African taxpayer you can receive back from SARS the taxable portion of any donation you make, up to 10% of your taxable income.

  3. Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment
  4. One of the elements used in compiling an Empowerment scorecard is Socio-Economic Development Contribution.

If your turnover is between R5m and R35m pa, your business could earn 25% of its points by donating 1% of net profit after tax towards sponsoring a child from a previously disadvantaged community.

The government particularly encourages charitable donations that are of economic as well as social benefit. Sponsoring a child at Ambleside School of Hout Bay would be a perfect way to accrue these points.
